Now is the time to learn to weave! Instruction covers everything you need to know about basic drafts, design, and the successful warping and weaving of your project. Learn what you need to know for a lifetime of weaving. Instruction is individualized and responsive to the experience and interest of the student. Choose to learn on a floor or table loom.

Have you ever wondered how those gorgeous “handspun” yarns were created? Do you want to make your own variations of yarn colors, fibers, textures, and weights? We’ll start with local alpaca fleece. Learn to wash, card and blend with silk and cashmere or yak…spin your unique blend into amazing handspun yarns.

In Navajo Weaving, as in other tapestry weaving, the warp is completely hidden. Navajo textiles typically have strong geometric patterns. We will learn traditional techniques for creating typical Navajo patterns and colors.

Learn to Crochet and Tunisian Crochet: $98 class includes your first project supplies.

The Learn to Crochet beginner class series will teach you the basic stitches and techniques you need to know to crochet a soft facecloth. You may also learn the technique of Tunisian crochet, which combines the best of knitting and crochet. After completing this 3-session class, you will be well on your way to crocheting beautiful accessories or blankets.

Rigid Heddle Weaving is a low cost and easy introduction to weaving. The rigid heddle is a small, simple, and easy to use loom. In this class, you will learn how to warp the loom weaving and finish techniques, as well as the carious components of a rigid heddle loom. Create a sampler incorporating hand-controlled patterns that emphasize color and texture.

Needle felting uses needles to felt natural fiber. Felt a cover onto a bar of lavender soap. The felted soap can be used as washcloth and soap together. What a great idea!

In Tapestry Weaving, the warp is completely hidden allowing for your spectacular image to be displayed. We will learn tapestry weaving techniques, including knotted tassels, soumak, pick and pick, hatching, and interlock. These techniques will help you to create unique tapestries. Experiment with color, texture, and fiber.

Macrame’ is a form of textile created by knotting, rather than knitting or weaving. In this class, we will learn Modern Knotting and Macrame’ skills. You will find that — with steady practice — there are many opportunities for growth with this very simple discipline. We will apply this practical skill to creating planters and artistic basketry.

First Friday Spin In and Potluck!
Friday, June 3 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm Open to all spinners — new or experienced.
What could be better than spinning with friends? Spinning with friends while enjoying yummy shared treats! Bring your spinning wheel and fibers and join us on the first Friday of every month at 1 pm. Bring along your favorite treat to share. Stay for the afternoon, and enjoy the fun, food and comradery with fellow spinners!
