Continental knitting (or European knitting) is sometimes called “picking.” It was used originally by Germans. In this method, the yarn is held in the left hand. The knitter uses the tip of the working needle to hook (or “pick”) the yarn and bring it forward. Continental knitting is faster than English knitting (or “throwing”), because the stitches are formed closer to the needle points and the yarn has a shorter distance to travel. FREE choice of luxurious alpaca or cotton yarn included with class.
