Learn to Knit: Mar. 10, 17, 24

In the Learn to Knit BEGINNER CLASS SERIES, you will learn the basic skills necessary to knit your own beautiful accessories.  Learn the knit stitch, purl stitch, how to cast-on and bind-off, increase and decrease, and how to read a pattern.  We will teach English (throwing) and Continental (picking) methods.  Leave class with two different washcloths and instructions for a new project.

Class includes a Lambspun Knitting Accessories Kit, yarn, needles, pattern, and unlimited help.

Skill Level: Beginner

Three-session class:

Session 1.  Select yarn for washcloths. Learn your way around the knitting needles, “casting on” in the process.  Learn to read a pattern.  Learn the structure of the knit stitch and use it to create garter stitch rows.

Session 2.  Learn the structure of the purl stitch and use knit and purl stitches to create stockinette rows and ribbing.

Session 3.  Learn basic ways to increase and decrease the number of stitches in a row.  Learn to bind-off stitches to complete your project.
