September 4, 2019 @ 9:00 am - 11:00 am

$98.00

In Navajo and Tapestry Weaving, the warp is completely hidden, allowing for your spectacular image to be displayed.  Companion books are available.  Warp yarn is included

Did you know? This weaving style has a long and rich history. The word tapestry comes from the Old French tapisserie, meaning “to cover with heavy fabric, to carpet”.  Tapestries have been used since at least Hellenistic times.  Navajo textiles typically have strong geometric patterns.  Traditional Navajo weaving used upright looms with no moving parts.  The weaver sat on the floor while weaving, wrapping the finished portion of the fabric underneath the loom.
