| Combine strands of lace, fingering, sock weight yarns to create beautiful and richly colored yarns for sweaters and accessories. Working with two yarns at a time in knitting or crochet, you can create artistic, transitional effects with color and texture. Want to create a bold statement fabric? Use strong and contrasting colors. Want to create soft “fades” and gentle transitions in your fabric? Carry the same color throughout and change the accompanying strand. We will look at a variety of sweaters and swatches as inspiration, and then create our own fabrics for soft, lighter weight sweaters or accessories. There will be time to swatch and review together. Class will include a kit of lightweight colorful yarns with which to swatch and experiment. We will also have an exclusive pattern for you, so that you can knit your own painterly, marled sweater- exactly to your size and preferences. |
