Sock Yarn Shawls with Barbara Brodsack

Love sock yarn fibers and colorways, but hate to knit socks? Then “Sock Yarn Shawls” is the project for you! Join us as we use sock yarn to create the beautiful Lycopod Shawl from Sock Yarn Shawls Number 2 by Jen Lucas. Learn lace knitting techniques and practice your chart reading skills.
You will need 1-2 skeins of Lambspun Rainbow Prism or Lambspun’s hand-dyed sock yarn (depending on shawl size), to create the shawl.

Three-session class. Class will meet weekly on Thursdays, beginning October 8, from 1 – 2 PM.

The pattern in this shawl resembles the shape of a Lycopod staghorn fern. Lycopods are ancient plants, and include some of the most primitive living species. One might say that this shawl represents survival under the most difficult conditions. Very appropriate for these times, don’t you think?!
