Card (or tablet) weaving is one of the oldest and most versatile textile techniques. Its history can be traced back to the eighth century BCE in early Iron Age Europe. Traces have also been found throughout India and the Middle East. This technique uses cards to create the shed through which the weft is passed.
In this class, we will use cards to weave colorful strips on an inkle loom. Use this technique to weave belts, dog collars, necklaces, and other narrow accessories. $98 class; inkle loom and cards available for purchase.
