In Tapestry weaving, the warp is completely hidden allowing for your spectacular image to be displayed. This weaving style has a long and rich history. The word tapestry comes from the Old French tapisserie, meaning “to cover with heavy fabric, to carpet”. Tapestries have been used since at least Hellenistic times.
Skill Level: All Levels
In this class, we will learn tapestry weaving techniques, including knotted tassels, soumak, pick and pick, hatching, and interlock. These techniques will help you to create unique tapestries. Experiment with color, texture, and fiber. $98 class with yarn purchase. Includes use of loom.
