Lambspun’s Natural Shades Fiber — Andalusian is one in a series of hand-painted Wool fibers inspired by breeds of horses that reflect our Western heritage. This particular fiber roving contains 25% English Leicester wool fiber, 25% Merino wool fiber, 25% Silk, 25% Corriedale wool fiber, and 5% Metallic Fiber.
This fiber selection combines the best of elasticity, drape and shine, as well as a little “glitz”. Wool from Corriedale sheep has a defined, even crimp. It has good elasticity, and is smooth and easy to spin or felt. It may be spun into fine to medium woolen, worsted or semi-worsted yarn. English Leicester wool is as soft as Merino, but easier to spin. This fiber combination may be transformed into yarn and innovative fabrics using a variety of ancient and modern spinning, weaving, knitting, and crocheting techniques.
Did you know? The Andalusian horse breed is known as the “Pure Spanish Horse”. It has been recognized as an individual breed since the 15th century. Breeds with Andalusian ancestry are known for their athleticism and stamina.
