Lambspun’s Natural Shades Fiber — Gypsy is one in a series of hand-painted Wool fibers inspired by breeds of horses that reflect our Western heritage. This particular fiber roving contains 85% Corriedale wool fiber, 10% Merino wool fiber, and 5% Metallic Fiber.
Wool from Corriedale sheep has a defined, even crimp. It has good elasticity, and is smooth and easy to spin or felt. It may be spun into fine to medium woolen, worsted or semi-worsted yarn. This fiber may be transformed into yarn and innovative fabrics using a variety of ancient and modern spinning, weaving, knitting, and crocheting techniques.
Did you know? The Gypsy horse is so-called because the breed was often used to pull the caravans of the travelling peoples of Britain and Ireland. It was exported to the United States in 1996, and often has a piebald or skewbald coloring.
