Felted Scarf Kit: Platte on the Plains
Spark your creative flow with this felted scarf kit with all the fiber and novelties you need to create your own unique piece of art. Watercolor wet felting is a wonderful way to create warm and sturdy pieces with unique painted effects using fiber.
The colors in this kit are inspired by the beautiful scenery of Colorado’s golden views and flowing waters. The kit contains brilliant aqua blue silk, a soft peachy alpaca blend mixed with just a little bit of glitz, a rich and earthy orange Merino, a saffron Merino as rich as the spice, and a white English Leicester and silk blend that has a gorgeous sheen when felted.
Instructions are included, but if you need any additional help you can sign up for one of our wet felting classes. We used a combination of wet and dry felting techniques to complete this scarf. We wet felted the base scarf, and then needle felted the Noro roving onto the scarf to make the design stick, and finished by wet felting it again. This is an easy and fun project you can do at any age. This project is simple enough for anyone to make a beautiful piece of their own, yet the medium allows for unlimited possibilities.
