Knit the Herringbone Lace Hat as a perfect transition from winter to spring headgear. You will create this delicate and lacy accessory from Baby cashmerino and angora yarn for a soft, silky texture.
The Herringbone Lace Hat is knit in the round, and is quick and easy to create. The open structure of the lace pattern is framed by knit and purl stitches.. We named this pattern “Herringbone Lace” because it resembles the hexagonal tiling often seen in herringbone patterns. Larissa Breloff designed this beautiful hat specifically for Lambspun.
Did you know? The herringbone pattern is so-named because of the arrangement of geometric shapes that resembles the bones of a fish. The original herringbone patterns were symmetrical arrangements of rectangles or parallelograms. These patterns were often used for floor tiling or road pavement.
