Description
Suri Alpaca Yarn is spun from the fleece of Suri alpacas, the rarer of the two breeds of South American alpacas. This breed has an elegantly draped slick, shiny fleece that hangs down from its body in long twisted strings, or locks. Suri fiber is prized for its unique luster and superb soft, slick handle. Use it to produce fine textiles and elegant knitwear requiring a soft, flowing, and drapey appearance.
Like all alpaca fibers, Suri alpaca yarns do not contain lanolin or oils, making them hypoallergenic. That means that people with wool sensitivities can wear garments made from these yarns. These are also hollow core fibers — warmer than wool, but with the ability to breathe.

Notes on Lambspun yarns:
Each skein contains approximately 670 yards. Please note that the amount of color variegation varies from skein to skein. Undyed, natural colors of Alpaca Yarn vary slightly, reflecting the natural variation in the animal’s fleece. Color variegation in hand-dyed yarns is a result of the hand-dyeing process. It is possible to request more or less variegation. Be sure to purchase enough yarn to complete your project, as we cannot guarantee the availability of additional skeins of a single dye lot.
